2010 FWATA District Eight
Annual Meeting on the Island of Oahu
June 30 to July 3, 2010
The 2010 FWATA Annual Meeting will be one that you can make a vacation while attending the meeting on the beautiful island of Oahu. Oahu is nicknamed “The Gathering Place”! What a perfect location for the FWATA members and fellow athletic trainers to gather, learn, and enjoy the “Aloha” spirit.
I encourage each of you to make plans to attend the meeting with your family and friends! Please spread the word to your colleagues outside of District Eight. There are many activities that you can take part in after attending the sessions that are free or inexpensive.
Beginning in November there will be a monthly “Hawaii for ATCs” section that will include tidbits on local sites, attractions, historical, traditions, and more! This beautiful property is on the legendary Waikiki beach and has spectacular views of Diamond Head and the ocean. You will be able to attend the sessions and then walk out to relax by the pool or beach and enjoy the property. The average temperature will be 80 degrees!! Special discounted room rates are $150/night for 1-2 people per room is good from June 27th to July 6th! Give the group name “Far West Athletic Trainers” to receive the discounted rate by calling 800/325-3535. This special room rate will be honored till May 29, 2010 or until the block of rooms are gone. Please make your reservations early!

There will be a cancellation fee of $25.00.

The Exhibitors Social will be outdoors with a children’s craft area on July 1st. This is the time you will have the opportunity to visit with colleagues and their families!
Awards & Hall of Fame Dinner on Friday, July 2, 2010

Silent Auction
This year’s silent auction will be conducted by the Hawaii Athletic Trainer’s Association and will benefit their scholarship fund! The items will be on display July 1st during the exhibitor hours
Educational Program
Will offer between 16-20 CEU units
Submission deadline for General session, student session and any workshops will be January 30, 2010. Please follow the NATA guidelines for submission of abstract.

Post Convention Island Cruise being organized for July 3-10th.
