Young Professionals Committee
Mission Statement
To recognize and address the interests, needs, and concerns of young athletic training professionals in district eight and to facilitate communication to and from members of that group as well as the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA).
Goals:
- To increase recruitment and retention of young athletic training professionals in district eight
- To increase the number of young athletic training professionals in regional, state, and district volunteer positions
- To increase the number of young athletic training professional attending the district eight annual meeting
- To motivate and encourage an increase in district eight young athletic training professionals attending the NATA annual meeting.
- To provide educational opportunities relevant to the interests and concerns of young athletic training professionals in district eight
- To keep young athletic training professionals within district eight informed of pertinent information in a more effective and relevant manner
- To increase the amount of educational opportunities relevant to the interests of district eight young professional athletic trainers
- To promote professional behavior and active professional involvement among young athletic training professionals in district eight
- To increase awareness and education with regard to legislative efforts within district eight as well as the NATA
- To encourage professional networking among young professional athletic trainers.
- To work in conjunction with the NATA Young Professionals Committee to improve working conditions and the quality of life conditions for athletic trainers

Position Available in the YPC
The Young Professionals Committee has 2 positions available, one for a Nevada representative, with a 1 year term beginning in April at FWATA. If you are under the age of 31 and are interested please submit a Cover Letter that adequately addresses your qualifications and desire to serve on a District committee as well as a resume to Raechel Cunningham D8 Chair at

by February 15, 2009. Applicants will be notified by March 15th and be expected to attend this year’s Far West Athletic Trainers Association Annual Meeting in San Diego, CA.
