Women in Athletic Training CommitteeMission Statement: To investigate professional concerns and disseminate information relative to mentoring, life balancing, leadership, and professional development regarding all members of the NATA. Upcoming EventsThe Women in Athletic Training Committee has some exciting events coming up at both the Far West and National conventions. First off, at FWATA we will again be co-hosting with the CUATS committee the student leadership breakfast. The date and time are still TBD. This event was not held last year in Las Vegas, but it was such a big hit the previous year in San Diego that we had to change the venue to a bigger room to accommodate all the students and leaders that participated! We look forward to a great turnout this year as well. Of course it is a breakfast and therefore will be early in the morning, but breakfast will be provided and what college student doesn’t love FREE FOOD??? Another project our committee is working on is a historical timeline of female athletic training firsts and milestones. We will have poster boards placed near the registration booth at FWATA, and we encourage members to fill in any information they may know regarding the timeline. The finished product, along with the other districts, will be presented during the welcome reception at the NATA convention. We look forward to seeing everyone in a couple of months! CALLING ON ALL D8 ATHLETIC TRAINERS!If you know of any female athletic training "firsts" or milestones in our district, please download and fill out the following template and send to Anna August at augusta@arc.losrios.edu Women in Athletic Training Survey (MS Word Version) National Women in Athletic Training Web SiteIf I can help people become better teachers, then students are better taught and patients are better served. Mentoring is a wonderful way of making a commitment to the profession." (Dr. Carol Davis) |
