District 8 Director Andy Paulin
Dear District 8 members;
As I pass the gavel to Director Elect Scott Sailor, I would like to extend my appreciation to all of the membership who helped me make District 8 just a little better than it was six years ago. The effort was certainly not just made by me alone. Past Managing Board and Committee members made a huge impact on the work that I was able to accomplish. The mentoring, guidance and leadership that I received form the NATA Board of Directors, NATA Committees and the NATA staff, honed my ability to deliver services to our three states. Current FWATA Managing Board members and committee members will “carry the torch with very strong arms” into the next tenure of leadership. What is also very gratifying is seeing the effort coming from current athletic training students and “Young Professionals”. I derive comfort from the vision that our states and districts are in very capable hands now, and in the future.
I would be remiss in not acknowledging the generous gifts you have bestowed upon me, especially in the last few weeks. But one of the best gifts is your gift of friendship and camaraderie. Those are lifetime memories.
This is not good bye, just “see you at the next activity”.
Sincerely,
Andy Paulin, ATC

3 Athletic Training Students from FWATA schools joined 10 certified FWATA members to "Hit-the-Hill" in Washington DC. From left to right, Christina Orozco from Fresno State, Adam Cady from Cal State Fullerton and Gina Biviano from Chapman University spent 3 days in our nations capital seeing the sites, sitting in on a few NATA committee meetings, and meeting with legislators on Capital Hill to discuss HR 1846. Their trip was sponsored by a grant from the FWATA Governmental Affairs Committee. They will be speaking about their experience at the student symposium at the FWATA Annual Meeting in Burlingame.
